As you drive through the Ugandan highlands, you will be surrounded by beautiful landscapes filled with terraced hillsides, villages, and farmlands. After an early breakfast, your guide will take you to the Bwindi Forest headquarters, where you’ll meet your ranger guides and receive a briefing about the gorilla habituation process. You will then embark on a genuine trek through the dense forest to find a group of mountain gorillas that have been gradually habituated to human presence.

Unlike regular gorilla trekking, where you typically have just an hour with the gorillas, the habituation experience allows you to spend up to four hours with these magnificent creatures. Golden Monkey Habituation Experience

Day 3 brings another incredible primate experience: the golden monkey habituation experience in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, located about 2-3 hours from Bwindi. Mgahinga, which shares its borders with Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park, is one of the few places where you can encounter the endangered golden monkeys. This is a rare opportunity to engage with these lively and colorful primates in their natural habitat.

After an early breakfast, you will head to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Upon arrival, your guide will take you through the park’s lush forest to locate a troop of golden monkeys that have been habituated to human presence. The golden monkey habituation experience allows you to spend time with the monkeys, observing their energetic behavior as they play, forage for food, and socialize. The interaction is similar to the 4-day gorilla habituation experience but with these smaller, faster-moving primates.

Golden monkeys are known for their striking appearance, with golden fur on their backs and limbs, contrasted by a darker face and tail. Drive to Entebbe Airport

On the final day of your 4-Day Gorilla Habituation Experience and Golden Monkey Habituation Tour, you will begin your journey back to Entebbe. After breakfast, you will depart from Rushaga Sector and drive back to Entebbe. The scenic drive will take approximately 8 hours, offering you one last chance to enjoy the diverse landscapes of Uganda.

Along the way, you will make a stopover at the Uganda Equator Crossing Line in Kayabwe, one of the most iconic landmarks in Uganda. This is the point where the Equator crosses the country, and standing here offers a unique photo opportunity, as you can literally stand with one foot in the northern hemisphere and the other in the southern hemisphere. You can also purchase souvenirs from local vendors at the equator, ranging from handcrafted goods to traditional Ugandan items.

After your stopover, you will continue your drive towards Entebbe, where your tour will come to an end. If time allows, you can explore Entebbe or visit local shops before being transferred to Entebbe Airport for your onward flight.
